We manufacture innovative, high-quality mountain sports and safety equipment made from durable metal. From concept to completion, everything is crafted at our headquarters in Tyrol, in the heart of the Alps. This location is a conscious decision. It reflects our commitment to premium quality and maximum safety in mountaineering, air sports and other high-risk professions. It also demonstrates our dedication to future generations.
We keep optimizing our processes to become even more effective, resource-saving and environmentally friendly. In doing so, we take responsibility for safety as well as future generations. In the following, we provide an insight into how we contribute to a greener future.
We’ve refurbished existing structures instead of building new ones. The thermal renovation of our plant has reduced the impact on the climate by around 250 tons of CO2 per year.
Our 3.600 m2 photovoltaic system supplies roughly a third of our energy. The rest comes from hydropower and is certified green electricity.
Manufacturing generates heat. We use heat exchangers to recover waste heat and utilize it to heat our production building all year. We don’t rely on any external energy sources like gas.
We source raw materials from certified partners within Europe. This keeps delivery routes short. Our warehouse for storing these materials is just 250 meters from the production facility.
Metal waste from our carabiner milling machine is collected, sorted and pressed into small nuggets. This saves around 80% volume during transportation and prepares the raw material for recycling. Water from milling is collected and fed back into the machine.
All our carabiners receive a protective finish. Coating is done in-house or by a partner company. The longest distance our carabiners ever travel is to get their anodized finish, but even this is carried out in an Austrian company in compliance with stringent environmental standards.
Packaging in the warehouse is still done by hand and to a large extent with environmentally friendly materials. The trend here is also moving towards 100% plastic-free.
We keep optimizing our processes to become even more effective, resource-saving and environmentally friendly.
